Curious or Fearful?

Today's question, why do we seek to be so curious about knowing our surrounding and our fellow human beings, is it because it holds a lot of mystery in it and we can get hold of many various types of knowledge from it, or a more darker side, to ascertain whether that surrounding or fellow human being is dangerous or harmful to us and so we try to investigate about that thing to know that are they our allies or enemies or they are just neutral things or beings. Sometimes I think we are both curious as well as afraid about knowing a person or thing, we want to know more about it or him/her as a general thing but we are fully conscious that they maybe dangerous to us as well. The things which humans are well equipped but not so often used to ascertain these things are consciousness, subconsciousness and your biggest ally in this dilemma Your Intuition. Let's take an example, you'll probably be knowing somebody in your acquaintances that seems to be very attractive to you in terms of knowledge or in special field, and you probably be wanting to know that how is he/she is having that power in him/her or quality that he/she is able to do that thing, but you hesitate at that very particular time when you approach them and the reason, you are afraid of the energy that aura that surrounds them and you take a back seat and watch them and try to know something by simply observing them. But the interesting part is that they come to know that you are running your mind regarding them and thus they initiate a conversation with you(they may or may not do this, according to their comfort or liking), and the reason that they come to think of this observation of your's is that our body and mind is always aware of any person that keeps staring or looking at us and can be a potential threat so we either take a fight or flight response. The quote that sums up this whole article is this "Why do you seek to know people, is it curiosity or fear".
                    Thank you.
